Council Revises Rules for Multi-Media Access

At its meeting on January 19, the City Council unanimously adopted revisions to the Rules of Procedure which govern how meetings are conducted. The major revision replaced a single-paragraph section on how meetings are to be televised, with a much longer section entitled “Multi-Media Presentation of City Council meetings/Workshops and/or Related Meetings.” Under the new rules, all regular City Council meetings must include live broadcast on public access television, a live stream over the internet, and a videotelephony platform (such…

New 550-Acre Conservation Project

Three Rivers Land Trust is working to preserve a large recreation and conservation area in Springvale to benefit the community and the region. This 550-acre property, to be named the “Sanford Community Forest,” is one of the largest remaining undeveloped areas within city limits, and Three Rivers aims to protect its ecological health while keeping it available for public recreation and traditional uses. Pilot's Cove Cafe is planning to expand this year with a new pavilion for outdoor dining, similar to the one pictured here.
