Congratulations to Sanford High School junior Laila Adawadkar, who is 1 of 30 students and (1 of 2 females) accepted to the U.S. Navy Sea Cadet Arctic Buoy Program.  She will research and build buoys that will be deployed in the Arctic Ice Sheet. Latest Covid-19 Info

Our community reached an unhappy milestone this week, as a cumulative total of 1,002 cases of Covid-19 have now been reported in the city since the pandemic began. Broken down by zip code, this represents 803 cases in Sanford and 199 in Springvale. The Maine Principals' Association has decided that schools in counties designated yellow may now begin holding sports practices and games, and other activities. York County has been designated yellow for over a month. Schools have been closed for two weeks due to Covid outbreaks, but are expected to reopen Monday, January 25.
