Cultural Celebration Held at Sanford Pride Elementary

by SPE Staff In April, students at Sanford Pride Elementary School celebrated an appreciation and awareness of the different cultures in our school, community and nation. The students and staff have been working on integrated projects since the end of February. All projects are linked to curriculum topics. The Kindergarten classrooms focused on Maine History. SRTC Students Inducted Into National Technical Honor Society

Press Release On May 3rd, the Sanford Regional Technical Center hosted its National Technical Honor Society induction ceremony to welcome 62 new members. SRTC provides technical education to juniors and seniors from 8 area high schools in York County. The newest members come from a range of the 21 programs at the center. Scouting News: Pack 355 and Troop 327 spent a couple of hours on Saturday, May 7 participating in the annual international Scouts Trash The Trash Day, which is a challenge to collect one pound of trash per person involved. They collected just under 200 pounds of trash from Holdsworth Park/The Rec area, including 4 tires and a broken TV. Thank you scouts and families who participated! Sunday, April 24: A 54-year-old Sanford resident was summonses for assault and refusing to sign a summons, following a disturbance on High St. A motor vehicle stop at Emery and Schools Sts. resulted in a 22-year-old Sanford resident being summonsed for violating condition of release, failure to register a motor vehicle more than 150 days, and operating without a license.
