Press Release
On May 3rd, the Sanford Regional Technical Center hosted its National Technical Honor Society induction ceremony to welcome 62 new members. SRTC provides technical education to juniors and seniors from 8 area high schools in York County. The newest members come from a range of the 21 programs at the center. The NTHS, whose slogan is “Excellence in America’s workforce begins with excellence in workforce education”, believes in empowering Career and Technical Education students in their journey to develop the skills they will need to build a career they will love.
Selection for membership is based upon high academic achievement within the student’s specific technical program at SRTC and also their cumulative GPA at the student’s partner high school. In addition, students must demonstrate the other NTHS attributes which are honesty, service, responsibility, citizenship, skills, and leadership. Quotes from the students’ application essays on these qualities were the highlight of the ceremony. NTHS students received certificates and purple and white honor cords to wear at their high school graduations.
