Would enough customers sign up for a super-fast broadband/internet service in Sanford-Springvale to make it self-sustaining? The City has secured a grant to start the process for residential broadband/internet service. Through this grant, the City has hired a market research company to gauge public demand for the expansion of SanfordNet Fiber, your community broadband network. SRTC to Offer Plumbing Program

At its regular meeting on Monday, October 5, the Sanford School Committee voted to add a two-year plumbing program to the offerings at the Sanford Regional Technical Center. SRTC Director Kathy Sargent presented her proposal for the program, which would begin part-time in the fall of 2021 with a maximum of 16 students. City Parks & Recreation Facilities Reopen

At their regular meeting on Tuesday, October 6, the City Council voted unanimously to accept the recommendation of the Public Safety Subcommittee, and reopen all parks and recreational facilities in Sanford and Springvale to low and moderate risk activities, as defined by the Maine Department of Economic and Community Development’s community sports guidelines.
