School Committee 8/30 Meeting Summary

The Sanford School Committee met on August 30. Normally, the School Committee wouldn’t meet twice in August, but this additional meeting was requested so that there could be further discussion on the Safe Return to School plan that was presented at the previous meeting on August 11. Arrests & Summonses: August 22-28

On Sunday, August 22, Sanford Police arrested a 36-year-old Sanford resident on an assault charge, after responding to a call on Washington St. Among other calls that day were two in Springvale, for vandalism and graffiti, and another vandalism call on River St. Monday, August 23, there were no arrests. Obituary: Kimberly Ann Eder

Topsham: Kimberly Ann Eder, 63, died Saturday, August 28, after a long and courageous battle with multiple sclerosis. She was born in Bath, Maine, Aug. 20, 1958. She later attended schools in Sanford and graduated from Sanford H.S., where she was vice president of the student council. She went on to receive a bachelor's degree from the University of Southern Maine, summa cum laude. She began her teaching career at Woolwich Central School in 1986 after finishing an internship at…
