The Trafton Center – Take Notice Camera Club won multiple ribbons at the Acton Fair. Their photos are now on display at the Trafton Center, so stop by and take a look.

Kids Free To Grow is conducting a diaper drive through the month of September to benefit York County families in need. If you can help out, drop off boxes are located at the Sanford-Springvale YMCA, Springvale Library, Frannie’s Mini Donuts and Little World 2 Child Care.

Mercy Chapel is temporarily closed due to a number of Covid-19 exposures and infections in the congregation. They will reopen for the 10:00 a.m. service on Sunday, September 12.

The McWillard PTA recently donated six new Chromebook storage cabinets, crafted by PTA members, to Margaret Chase Smith School. The combined PTA is for parents and teachers of both MCS and Sanford Pride Elementary. They are actively seeking new members. Meetings are held in person with a Zoom option. Sanford High School field hockey coach and teacher Diana Walker was the subject of a recent article in the Portland Press Herald. Coach Walker will be retiring at the end of this year after coaching the team for 39 years. Retired teacher and coach Roland Cote was profiled in the latest edition of the Sanford Schools Legacy Foundation Newsletter. Read it here.

Speaking of field hockey, SHS player Audrey Payeur made the Portland Press Herald’s list of 25 players to watch in southern Maine. She was the only freshman to make the list. Read the article here.

There has been some vandalism to the bridge on the Mousam Way South Trail by Emery Street. For public safety, this section of trail is temporarily closed until Sanford Trails can fix the damage, which should be next week.

As the pandemic has worsened, Southern Maine Health Care has once again updated its visitor policy, which applies to physician practices, emergency room and behavioral health. Read the latest update here.
