For the week ending 6/12/21 Sanford Fire Department’s Engine 4 responded to a fire on Sherburne St. June 6. The cause was homemade candles left burning unattended, which smoked and set off an alarm. Firefighters had to force entry into the apartment to extinguish the blaze and prevent a larger incident. Fortunately, no one was injured or displaced. Fire Department Log: May 30-June 5

There were no fires in Sanford/Springvale during the week. On May 31, Sanford firefighters with Engine 4 provided mutual aid to North Berwick for an early morning structure fire at 64 Portland St. The Department provided public service at a vaccine clinic on June 1. Firefighters and EMS responded to a report of a glider crash at Sanford Seacoast Regional Airport on June 5, but no incident was located.
