Sanford Firefighters Association Local 1624 is selling t-shirts and face masks to raise money for cancer research/prevention/treatment again this year. Proceeds stay in our local community. High-Speed Internet Survey

Would enough customers sign up for a super-fast broadband/internet service in Sanford-Springvale to make it self-sustaining? The City has secured a grant to start the process for residential broadband/internet service. Through this grant, the City has hired a market research company to gauge public demand for the expansion of SanfordNet Fiber, your community broadband network. The phone survey – targeting 400 households - will be conducted by Barrows & Associates beginning the week of October 12, to solicit feedback from residents on broadband/high speed internet interest within Sanford-Springvale. School Committee 10/5 Meeting Summary

At the Sanford School Committee’s regular meeting on October 5, the following items were among those presented or discussed: Superintendent of Schools Matt Nelson gave an update on the construction projects at the schools. SRTC to Offer Plumbing Program

At its regular meeting on Monday, October 5, the Sanford School Committee voted to add a two-year plumbing program to the offerings at the Sanford Regional Technical Center. SRTC Director Kathy Sargent presented her proposal for the program, which would begin part-time in the fall of 2021 with a maximum of 16 students.
