Inquiry Into Jail Outbreak Announced

York County Manager Gregory Zinser announced on Thursday, September 3 that there will be an inquiry by an independent third party into the circumstances that led to the outbreak of Covid-19 among staff and inmates at the York County Jail. Middle School Not Ready to Open

Superintendent of Schools Matt Nelson announced Wednesday that the converted Sanford Middle School will not be ready to open on September 14 as planned. Instead, students in grades 5-8 will start the school year in full distance learning mode for two weeks, with in-person education now scheduled to begin September 28. Preliminary Approval For Spencer Hill Estates

At their meeting on August 19, Sanford Planning Board members gave preliminary approval to a new subdivision to be built at the intersection of Jagger Mill Road and Spencer Hill Road. The project includes nine single-family homes, plus an eight acre back lot which may be sold or developed at a later date.
