More Covid Outbreaks in Sanford

WMTW and Seacoast Online are reporting that Maine CDC is investigating two more outbreaks at Sanford social clubs. An outbreak investigation at the VFW on Hutchenson St. was reportedly opened on September 11. Maine CDC updated its map of Covid-19 case counts by zip code on Thursday, September 10. As of September 6, there are a cumulative total of 57 cases of the virus in Sanford, and 15 in Springvale, for a total of 72 in our community. City Council Adopts Emergency Ordinance to Fight Covid-19

On Thursday, September 10, the City Council voted unanimously to adopt a 90-day emergency ordinance to alleviate community spread of Covid-19 by strengthening the state’s face covering law and increasing enforcement. The ordinance, which was drafted by City Manager Steven Buck and the city's attorney based on existing emergency ordinances and the Governor’s Executive Orders, requires individuals to wear cloth or disposable face coverings “properly worn over the nose and mouth” in public settings where physical distancing cannot be maintained.…
