Explore the Sanford Community Forest

Three Rivers Land Trust is hosting walks of the proposed Sanford Community Forest, with the first one scheduled for Sunday, February 14 (weather permitting). The other dates are March 14 and April 11. The trail is a little less than two miles and is expected to take no more than 2 hours to complete. Lanigan to Fight Removal

City Councilor Lucas Lanigan told the York County Coast Star this week that he plans to challenge his removal by Mayor Anne-Marie Mastraccio from the Council’s advisory subcommittees on the grounds that it violates Sanford’s City Charter. New cases of Covid-19 continue to decline in Sanford and Springvale. The latest weekly update, with data as of February 7, shows 43 new cases of the virus in Sanford and 8 in Springvale, for a total of 51 new cases in our community. The five members of the Sanford School Committee have directed Superintendent of Schools Matt Nelson to figure out how to have students in schools more days per week.
