Planning Board Approves Solar Facility at Former CGA Site

On March 3, the Planning Board approved a new solar power facility on three parcels of land at 229 New Dam Road. One parcel is the former CGA site, which was taken by the City of Sanford in 2010 for back taxes. The other two parcels are owned by the Maine Turnpike Authority. Four City Council Subcommittees met on Tuesday, March 9. This is a brief summary of some of the items discussed at each. Municipal Operations and Property The Subcommittee heard from Airport Manager Allison Navia about two parcels of City-owned land at the Airport that are not needed for aviation purposes. Sanford Elks Win State Ritual Championship

Congratulations to the Sanford Elks Lodge #1470 on winning the 2021 Ritual championship for the state of Maine. Team members were judged on how well they memorized and delivered their lines, and how well they performed the Elks initiation ritual, which is used when new members join the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.
