Changes Coming to Downtown Restaurants

At the Design Review Committee meeting on April 14, three existing downtown restaurants, and one new one, presented plans for changes to the exterior of their properties. The Sanford City Council's Subcommittees met on April 13. The following is a brief summary of what was discussed at each meeting. ATVs on the Rail Trail Debated

Members of the City Council’s Municipal Operations and Property Subcommittee waded into the longstanding conflict between the Trails Committee and the Sanford ATV Club at their April 13 meeting, when they heard arguments from both sides about use of the Rail Trail. Unlike other Sanford trails, the Rail Trail is designated as multi-use, which allows for walkers, horseback riders, motorized and non-motorized vehicles. Land Trust Planting For The Future

A new initiative by Mousam Way Land Trust is taking a proactive stance in response to environmental changes. As global warming accelerates and transforms our world, the forest's ability to help offset increased carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere is impacted.
