Final Municipal Budget On Hold

The final 2021-2022 municipal budget is on hold for now, awaiting more information out of Augusta before the City Council will vote to approve or amend it. On April 8, City Manager Steven Buck presented the proposed municipal budget and his recommended amendments to the Budget Committee. The proposed budget includes $30,535,165 in municipal appropriations and $3,922,668 in capital reserve funding, offset by $15,118,696 in municipal revenue. The GoFundMe fundraiser to pay medical expenses for Ory, one of the Willard School's service dogs, has been a great success, with over $26,000 raised to date. The goal was $20,000. Ory has hip dysplasia and torn ACLs in both knees. Her owner plans to donate leftover funds to Project Chance, where she got Ory. Police Log Highlights: April 8-15

On Thursday, April 8, Sanford Police made three arrests. A 20-year-old Main St. resident was taken into custody on a warrant after a violation of protective order call. There were 45 new cases of Covid-19 in Sanford this week, and 5 in Springvale, a total of 50. This is an increase from last week, which saw 39 new cases in our community.
