There were 45 new cases of Covid-19 in Sanford this week, and 5 in Springvale, a total of 50. This is an increase from last week, which saw 39 new cases in our community. The cumulative total of cases in Sanford/Springvale is now 1,520. This data is as of April 11. There were 884 new cases of Covid-19 in York County as a whole in the past two weeks. Changes Coming to Downtown Restaurants

At the Design Review Committee meeting on April 14, three existing downtown restaurants, and one new one, presented plans for changes to the exterior of their properties. Welcome Home Diner Downtown Sanford will have a new restaurant soon, when Welcome Home Diner opens in the former Jerry’s Diner building, most recently home to the One Love Jamaican restaurant. Subcommittee Meeting Reports

The Sanford City Council's Subcommittees met on April 13. The following is a brief summary of what was discussed at each meeting. Municipal Operations & Property Matt Hill, Director of Public Works, and Mindee Goodrum of the York County Soil and Water Conservation District, brought forward a solution to reduce erosion into Bauneg Beg Lake. ATVs on the Rail Trail Debated

Members of the City Council’s Municipal Operations and Property Subcommittee waded into the longstanding conflict between the Trails Committee and the Sanford ATV Club at their April 13 meeting, when they heard arguments from both sides about use of the Rail Trail. Volk Packaging Expanding to Sanford
