SHS/SRTC Prom and Graduation in the Age of Covid

During the School Committee’s April 26 meeting, Sanford High School Principal Matt Petermann went over the plans for this year’s Senior Prom and Graduation. Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, things will be run a bit differently this year in comparison to past years. Prom will be held Saturday, May 15, from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. on the SHS campus. Sanford Vaccine Clinic to Offer Walk-In Appointments

The Sanford vaccination clinic, located in the former Marshall’s store at 1364 Main Street, will offer walk-in vaccine appointments Thursday, April 29 from 5:00-8:00pm; Friday, April 30 from 8am to noon; and Saturday, May 1 from 8am to 4:00pm for Maine residents 18 and older to receive the first dose of the Moderna Vaccine. Sanford's Planning Board and Site Plan Review Committee are keeping busy this spring approving many new projects. Airport Plaza Storage Expansion At its meeting on April 20, the Site Plan Review Committee approved plans for the expansion of the Airport Plaza storage facility located at 1725 Main St. The owner, Patco Construction, plans to build a new 4,600 sq. ft. storage building on the property. Police Log Highlights: April 16-22

On Friday, April 16, Sanford Police officers responding to a larceny/forgery/fraud call summonsed a 19-year-old Sanford resident on charges of theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, and theft by receiving stolen property. The Department also responded to eight motor vehicle accidents that day. The Log for Saturday, April 17 was not available at press time.
