Student Support Rooms Making a Difference

At the School Committee meeting on November 1, Kristy Richards, the Behavior Coach for grades K-4, gave a presentation on her work, with a focus on the Support and Transition program that she oversees at Sanford’s three elementary schools. In the race for City Council, former School Committee and Budget Committee member Becky Brink was the largest vote getter with 2,271, and will be sworn in to the Council in January. Incumbent Ayn Hanselmann has been re-elected for a second term with 1,692 votes. York County Community Action has extended its free transportation for essential needs like shopping, medical appointments and getting to work, through January 31, 2022. YCCAC is doing its part to keep riders and drivers safe, including requiring drivers to wear masks when any passengers are on board, having a barrier between the driver and the passenger entrance, requiring that all passengers wear masks, and offering a free mask to anyone who needs one.
