School Committee Meeting Summary

The Sanford School Committee met December 20, 2021. All members were present. The minutes of previous meetings were approved. There were no public comments or communications. Committee Reports Construction: Superintendent of Schools Matt Nelson reported that the arbitration between the School Department and subcontractors who worked on Sanford High School was held the previous week. On Friday and Saturday, December 17 and 18, Springvale Toys for Tots held its 14th distribution event and the parents of (approximately) 1400 children came to choose gifts/toys for their children. This year Toys for Tots was fortunate to have the use of Curtis Lake Church's multi-purpose room where the gifts were displayed for choosing and parents were escorted by elves, who were all members of the community. Bundle up and Read! Children are invited to sign up for the winter reading program at the Springvale Public Library beginning on January 3 through February 28, 2022.
