The Sanford School Committee met March 21, 2022. All members were present. Public Participation: Sanford High School senior Grace Davie spoke about some issues with the sales of tickets for prom. Good News From Sanford Schools: March 23, 2022

Sanford High School Ms. Foley’s Senior English classes are working on skills that should benefit them as they move towards graduation:  Interview skills!  Students practice and conduct interviews with each other.  The students seemed to be enjoying their interviewing time together and hopefully this skill will help them land their next job!  Two SHS winter athletes have received statewide accolades. 11th Grade Students to Get Civics Class

High School juniors in Sanford will be getting a dedicated civics class beginning in September under a revamping of the Social Studies curriculum for grades 5-11. Erin Barry and Shane O’Connell, social studies Department Chairs at Sanford Middle School and Sanford High School respectively, made a presentation on the new curriculum to the School Committee on March 21, 2022. The Trafton Travelers had their first successful trip of the season, with a St. Patrick's Day party at the Danversport Yacht Club. Students in the SRTC Culinary Arts program are getting the seasoning just right for their Greek inspired soup. They have been using their soup making skills this month as part of the Lenten meals being served by the Knights of Columbus. Staff members at Waban getting into the St. Paddy's day spirit! ...and the kids did too!

New or gently used sneakers in child sizes 10-13 and youth sizes 1-7 can be dropped off at the Elks Lodge on Elm St. until March 29.
