Fire Department Log: September 12-25, 2021

In the two-week period ending September 25, the Sanford Fire Department responded to the following calls. Nine of the calls were for mutual aid to surrounding communities. While on a scene of a motor vehicle accident, Engine 2 was struck by another vehicle. No injuries resulted. Engine 2 is out of service until repairs can be completed (see photo below). On Sunday, September 19, there were no arrests or summonses. Among the calls that day were a disturbance on Main St., vandalism reports on Summer St. in Springvale as well as on River St., and a drug incident on Main St. Monday, September 20, there were no arrests or summonses. Arrests & Summonses: September 12-18

On Sunday, September 12, Sanford Police, responding to a shoplifting call on Main St. at 3:28 a.m., summonsed a 22-year-old Springvale resident for theft and criminal trespass. That night, a disturbance on Main St. led to the arrest of a 17-year-old juvenile for refusing to submit to arrest or detention, and assault on an officer. Fires On Thursday, September 9, multiple units responded to a grease fire at the Springvale Publick House, 481 Main St. It was extinguished with minimal damage. The restaurant remained closed until the unit could be cleaned and inspected.
