Fire Log: March 1-15, 2022

Fires Sanford firefighters provided mutual aid to Lebanon for a building fire on March 4. Three units responded. On March 10, a fire on top of a kitchen stove on Jellerson Rd. brought five units to the rescue. Fortunately, it was confined to the container. Three reported fires turned out to be authorized controlled burning, while two others were unauthorized. There was one call classified as a smoke scare or odor of smoke. Two of the City Council’s subcommittees met March 8 for work sessions. The following items were among those presented and discussed. Municipal Operations and Property Mayor Anne-Marie Mastraccio and Deputy Mayor Maura Herlihy were joined by City Councilor Bob Stackpole, substituting for Becky Brink. Police Log Digest: February 27 – March 5, 2022

On Sunday, February 27, Sanford Police were called to an assault in progress on Main St. EMS personnel also responded. A report was taken but no arrests were made. A violation of a protective order on Patriots Ln. was investigated. The Department responded to four motor vehicle accidents that day, one on Lebanon St., one on Mt. Fires Sanford firefighters dealt with a dumpster fire on Spruce St. on February 17. Engine 2 and Ladder 1 responded. The Department also provided mutual assistance twice on February 28, to Wells for a house fire and to Rochester for a barn fire.
