High School & SRTC Move to Remote Learning

Superintendent of Schools Matt Nelson announced on Friday, September 18, that Sanford High School and the Sanford Regional Technical Center will move to fully remote instruction beginning Monday, September 21. An individual associated with the High School recently tested positive for Covid-19, and there is a possibility that other staff or students may have been exposed. Police Notes

The Sanford Police are looking for the owner of a dog, described as a dark bulldog, that bit an elderly woman on William Oscar Emery Drive near the dog park on Saturday around 4:00 p.m. They need to ascertain if the dog is up to date on vaccinations, otherwise the bite victim will need to undergo a series of painful rabies shots. Springvale Library News

On September 18, Springvale Public Library Director Lesley Unger reluctantly decided to close the Library to the public due to the surge of Covid-19 cases in our community. She will reassess the situation in two weeks and hopes to reopen then. In the meantime, you can take advantage of the Library's curbside service to check out books, movies and more. Candidates for Mayor, City Council, School Committee, State Representative, State Senator and County Commissioner are being invited to participate. The event will be live streamed by WSSR-TV from the Performing Arts Center, and recorded for later viewing. Do you have a question you'd love to ask a candidate?
