Covid-19 Outbreak at Calvary Baptist Church

Press release from Maine.gov: The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Maine CDC) is investigating an outbreak of COVID-19 among individuals affiliated with the Calvary Baptist Church in Sanford. At present, there are at least five confirmed cases of COVID-19 involving people affiliated with the church. More Cases of Covid-19 at York County Jail

The Covid-19 outbreak at the York County Jail in Alfred is now at 54 cases, of which 35 are inmates, 16 are corrections officers, 2 York County employees and 1 DHHS employee who works out of the building. They are still waiting on the results of about 85 more tests. York County Sheriff William King told the Portland Press Herald today that, before the outbreak, masks were optional for inmates and corrections officers at the jail, but are now required.…

Election Preparations Underway

The City of Sanford is working hard to make sure the November 3 general election runs safely and smoothly. City Clerk Sue Cote met with the City Council's Public Safety Subcommittee on Tuesday, August 25 and gave them an update on procedural changes and preparations. Covid-19 Outbreaks Close to Home

As has been extensively reported in national and statewide media, the Sanford area is dealing with multiple cases of Covid-19 in two outbreaks. One outbreak, at the Sanford Fire Department, includes four confirmed cases of the virus, with three among staff members and one related case.
