Cases of Covid-19 continue to surge our community. With data updated as of December 13, Maine CDC is reporting 75 new cases in Sanford and 7 in Springvale, for a total of 82 new cases in just one week.
The cumulative totals are now 361 in Sanford and 85 in Springvale, a total of 446.
The school system is regularly seeing new cases among students and staff, but is keeping schools open, as the cases appear to have come from community spread, and not from school spread.
As of December 15, there were 12 city employees impacted by Covid. As of that morning, two had tested positive, three negative, and seven were awaiting results. The city is putting contingencies in place to ensure all services are covered.
There are 1,448 active cases of Covid-19 in York County.
