Cub Scouts Community Service Day

On Saturday, November 21, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., Cub Scouts and alumni of Pack 355 held a dual event to help their community. Sunshine and warm weather greeted the Scouts as alumni of the Pack, Michael and Vincenzo, directed a drive-through food drive below the Gowen Park Gazebo. They were able to collect over 125 boxes of macaroni and cheese for the Sanford Backpack Program, and over 200 other non-perishable items which were donated to the Saint Thérèse Food…

City Council 11/24 Meeting Summary

At the Sanford City Council’s regular meeting on November 24, the following items were among those presented or discussed: Up to $200,000 in funding for the Preliminary Design Phase of downtown Sanford reconstruction, as outlined in the Planning Partnership Initiative study, was approved. The money will cover 50% of the design cost, with the other 50% to be paid by Maine DOT.
