Nicole Chapa, an 8th grade Sanford Middle School student, organized an opportunity for the SMS JMG students to partner with Tara Pierce of Sole Hope to help Ugandans in need. Students worked to create parts of denim shoes that prevent jigger infections in the feet of villagers. Arrests, Summonses & More: March 19-25

On Friday, March 19, a 44-year-old Winter St. resident was taken into custody on charges of domestic violence assault with priors, violating conditions of release, and assault. Saturday, Sanford Police arrested a 36-year-old Lyman resident for assault after a call to a Jackson St. address. Later that night, a summons was issued to a 20-year-old St. Louis St. resident for speeding 30+ mph over the limit on Main St. in Springvale. Historical Museum & Goodwin House to Reopen in July

by Harland Eastman The Sanford-Springvale Historical Museum and the Goodwin House are pleased to announce that they will be reopening to the public beginning in July.  Specifically, the Museum will be open on Friday, July 2nd from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and both the Museum and the House from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. the following day.  These Friday and Saturday hours will continue throughout the summer and thereafter if the health situation permits.                                            Motor Vehicle Exhibit:  Late in…
