School Committee 4/26 Meeting Summary

Vice Chair Paula Cote led the meeting in the absence of Chair Don Jamison. During public comments, Sanford High School sophomore John-Paul Alexandre spoke about scheduling at the school. The Sanford International Film Festival is Back!

It's been a long wait, but the 7th Sanford International Film Festival is set to debut. All the films will be free and virtual, with videos streaming on WSSR-TV’s YouTube channel and Facebook pages. The Festival takes place over three consecutive nights, beginning Thursday, April 29. SHS/SRTC Prom and Graduation in the Age of Covid

During the School Committee’s April 26 meeting, Sanford High School Principal Matt Petermann went over the plans for this year’s Senior Prom and Graduation. Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, things will be run a bit differently this year in comparison to past years. Prom will be held Saturday, May 15, from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. on the SHS campus. Sanford Vaccine Clinic to Offer Walk-In Appointments

The Sanford vaccination clinic, located in the former Marshall’s store at 1364 Main Street, will offer walk-in vaccine appointments Thursday, April 29 from 5:00-8:00pm; Friday, April 30 from 8am to noon; and Saturday, May 1 from 8am to 4:00pm for Maine residents 18 and older to receive the first dose of the Moderna Vaccine.
