News Notes: April 11

Since reopening a few months ago, Books ReVisited in Sanford has been really busy. So much so, that they would welcome any book donations! They also accept cds, dvds and puzzles. If you can donate books, please call Books Revisited at 490-1320. The store is located at 882 Main Street, and is open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 10 to 4. Police Log Highlights: April 2-7

On Friday, April 2, Sanford Police had to break out the handcuffs early. The first arrest, at 12:46 a.m., was of a 52-year-old Elm St. resident on an assault charge. Half an hour later, a domestic disturbance call resulted in the arrest of a 19-year-old Lebanon St. resident on a charge of domestic violence assault. School Committee April 5 Meeting Summary

Under public participation, Sanford High School Principal Matt Petermann thanked Sarah Schnell of WSSR-TV for her help in broadcasting a virtual state cheering competition. He said that it was feared that they would not be able to have a competition this year due to Covid regulations, but they made it work, and the National Federation of High School Associations praised it as the best cheering event of the season.
