On Sunday, October 24, a 28-year-old Sanford resident was arrested on an outstanding warrant, following a domestic disturbance on Timber Ridge Ave. Monday, October 25, a motor vehicle stop at School St. and Gregory Dr. led to a 45-year-old Sanford resident being taken into custody on a warrant. Caring Unlimited Wins Competitive Grant for Youth Violence Prevention

U.S. Attorney Darcie N. McElwee announced October 30 that Caring Unlimited, York County’s domestic violence resource center based in Sanford, was recently awarded a $497,000 three-year grant from the Department of Justice’s Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) Consolidated Youth Program. Caring Unlimited’s program was one of only 16 projects selected nationally to receive such a grant. Consultants for VIP Auto, Inc. have been working with Sanford’s Planning Department over the past several months to get approval for an expansion of the former Bonanza Steakhouse building to become VIP’s new, larger location.
