The Sanford Spartans Cheerleaders took 2nd place in the Class A South Regionals competition in Lewiston this week. Congratulations to the team and their coach Kendra O'Connell. Watch a video of their performance here. The Sanford Mainers will open their 21st season on Tuesday, June 7 at home against North Division rival the Upper Valley Nighthawks. If you were wondering what the big crowd was at Gowen Park on February 5 (besides the sledders), it was the York District BSA, which held its 2022 Klondike Derby at the park and and on the Mousam Trail. Roughly 175 scouts and leaders participated, with 20 sleds competing in the challenge. They also did a good turn and removed a 40 gallon bag of litter from the trails.
