On Sunday, March 13, there were no arrests or summonses. Officers responded to domestic disturbances at Perkins Ct. and Oxford St., among other calls. Monday, March 14, a 22-year-old Sanford resident was taken into custody on Main St. on an outstanding warrant. Domestic disturbances on Timber Ridge Ave. and Bougie Ln., and burglar alarms on New Dam Rd. and Siddall Rd. were among the other calls that day. News Notes: March 24, 2022

Building Trades students at Sanford Regional Technical Center are working on framing projects with different roof styles. Roof styles consist of gable, hip, and valley roof framing. The project structures are 4'X8' with a 3'X2' bump out. They are the perfect size for a  great chicken coop, dog house or play house and are for sale for $100. Huntington Common Charitable Fund Grants Doing Good in Sanford

Press Release The Kennebunk Savings Bank Foundation’s Huntington Common Charitable Fund (HCCF) is approaching the first deadline for new grant proposals in 2022. The HCCF seeks to improve the lives of older adults in York County, Maine, and, in 2021 alone, paid out $185,000 in program grants, supporting a wide variety of programs and projects. Budget Committee Approves Brownfields Bond for International Woolen Co. Property

At its meeting on March 24, 2022, the Budget Committee approved a request from the City’s Planning Department for a $1 million bond to provide matching funds needed to get a $5 million brownfields grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Interest on the bond would be budgeted under debt service over a ten year period. If the bond is also approved by the City Council, it will go before voters for the final say in November. School Committee 3/21 Meeting Summary

The Sanford School Committee met March 21, 2022. All members were present. Public Participation: Sanford High School senior Grace Davie spoke about some issues with the sales of tickets for prom. Due to the venue’s restrictions, only 250 tickets were being offered. She said when tickets went on sale, some students were cutting in line or having to skip lunch or be late to class, for fear they would miss out on getting a ticket. She thanked everyone for their…
