The Sanford School Committee met May 23, 2022. Committee member Jonathan Mapes was absent, all others were present. Fires Outdoor fires are very common in spring, as shown by the number of incidents in the first half of this month. On May 1, a woods fire on Pierce Ave., caused by disposal of wood stove ash, brought Engines 4 and 5 to the rescue. On May 9, a mulch fire on Main St. was caused by a cigarette.
