Military Appreciation Day at the Mainers July 6

On Wednesday, July 6, 2022, the Sanford Mainers will host the veterans and military service members of York County at the annual Military Appreciation Day at Goodall Park in Sanford. American Legion Post #19 assisted by the Amvets and VFW will organize and coordinate the event. City Council 6/21 Meeting Summary

The Sanford City Council met June 21, 2022. It was the first in-person meeting held in almost a year. Councilor Ayn Hanselmann joined via Zoom as she was on vacation. City Ending the Fiscal Year in Good Financial Shape

At the City Council meeting on June 21, 2022, City Manager Steven Buck had good news for the Council and the people of Sanford. The City is ending the fiscal year in a very strong position, due to the combination of savings on the appropriation side and higher-than-expected revenues. Some line items in the current year’s appropriation went over budget. School Committee 6/16 Meeting Summary

The Sanford School Committee met June 16, 2022. John Roux was absent, all other members were present. There were no minutes to approve and no public comments or other communications. Committee Reports Construction: Superintendent of Schools Matt Nelson reported that the contractor on the Sanford High School building project has issues with the change order and will not sign it.
