Obituary: Jana M. Whitten

Jana M. Whitten passed away at home after a brave battle with cancer on Sunday, June 26, 2022. Jana was born on July 6, 1977 to Joseph and Germaine Whitten (Rossignol) in Presque Isle Maine. She was the youngest of four and lovingly referred to as the “oops baby”. Jana grew up in Crouseville, ME where she made lifelong friends. She attended Washburn schools graduating in 1995. Fire Department Log: June 16-30, 2022

Fires The Sanford Fire Department provided mutual aid to Acton with a structure fire, which started in a clothes dryer, on June 21. Engine 1 responded. Later that day, the Department was called to assist with a fire on Blaney's Island in Shapleigh. Forestry 2 and Marine 1 responded. A brush fire on Cyro Rd. June 23 brought three units out.
