York County Shelter Programs gave thanks this week to Grayson Perro, a 12-year-old seventh grader at Sanford Middle School, who once again provided a generous donation of holiday gifts for YCAP’s residents. Grayson’s mom Jessica says that he has been giving to others since he was four years old. Friday, December 16: A motor vehicle accident on Washington St. resulted in a 43-year-old Springvale resident being summonsed for operating after suspension with prior suspension (not OUI). Saturday, December 17: Officers responding to a disturbance on Rushton St. arrested a 27-year-old Lewiston resident on charges of operating under the influence (no test), assault and operating with a suspended registration. The Sanford Planning Board met January 4, 2023. All members were present. It was the first meeting for newly appointed members Jace Clarke, who previously served on the Board, and Kyle Landry, who was previously a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals. The Sanford City Council met January 3, 2023. Councilor Jonathan Martell was absent with notice. The meeting began with the Council accepting the resignation of Councilor Becky Brink. Ms. Brink was then sworn in as Mayor by City Clerk Sue Cote. Mayor Brink thanked her family for their support and help with the election.
