Sanford was well represented at the Elks’ State Soccer Shoot in Bangor last month. Of the eight state champions, two were from Sanford: Bella Savoy (Girls Under 10 Champ) and Rihanna Provencher (Girls Under 12 Champ). Sewer Rates to Increase 9%, Staggered Over 18 Months

At a public hearing held October 27, 2022, Sanford Sewerage District Superintendent André Brousseau presented information on the need for a rate increase to sewerage district customers. Mr. Brousseau said that new legislation passed this year by the Maine Legislature prohibits any material derived from wastewater treatment from being reused on any land in the state of Maine. Puppy Scam: The Sanford Police Department is warning residents of a Facebook scam involving puppies. A seller claims to have puppies for sale (presumably with adorable photos), a buyer sends money, and when they go to pick up the puppy, the person at that address is not selling puppies.
