Chief Craig Andersen, Deputy Chief Eric Small, Lt. Chad Allen and Detective Colleen Adams of the Sanford Police Department joined the City Council's Public Safety Subcommittee meeting on February 22, 2022 to provide an update on the Department's activities. On Sunday, February 13, Sanford Police made a total of 17 motor vehicle stops. Most drivers received warnings, but two summonses were issued for operating without a license: one to a 28-year-old resident of Somersworth, NH, and one to a 22-year-old resident of Windermere, FL. Fires In the early morning hours of February 2, Sanford firefighters responded to a car fire on Avon St. near a building. The fire was fortunately confined to the vehicle. The following day, five units responded to an electrical fire at a mobile home on High St. The power was isolated and there were no injuries or major damage.
