Compiled by Rev. Susan Murphy Howard Acker, a native of Alfred, passed away on Oct. 13, 2024, in Charlottesville, VA. He was born on Sept. 23, 1930, to Henry Palmer Acker and Mary Greim Acker. He grew up in the Sanford/Springvale area, graduating from Sanford High School in 1949. Howard was an apprentice at Saco Lowell shops in Lowell, MA, where he learned to be a draftsman.
