The Maine Principals' Association has decided that schools in counties designated yellow may now begin holding sports practices and games, and other activities. York County has been designated yellow for over a month. Schools have been closed for two weeks due to Covid outbreaks, but are expected to reopen Monday, January 25. Staff and clients of Waban Projects got their first Covid-19 vaccinations this past week. Sanford Middle School report cards will be issued January 22. SMS also reminds parents that there are dozens of school photos awaiting pickup. The Sanford-Springvale YMCA recently received a donation of $2,716 from Subway Restaurants of Maine. This money was raised during the SUBWAY CARES campaign in the month of December. Subway has been a long time supporter of the YMCA, and every month they provide the Early Learning Center with healthy lunch options.
