Nonprofits helping nonprofits: Grahamtastic Connection, a Sanford-based organization that provides technology and internet access to kids with cancer and other life threatening illnesses, has been bolstered by donations from two other local groups. At the Emergency School Committee meeting held January 13, no action was taken. There had been some concern among parents that the meeting would announce schools were reverting to remote learning, but that was not the case. The City of Sanford/Village of Springvale will institute a winter weather emergency parking ban beginning at 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 16, 2022. The parking ban will remain in effect until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 17, 2022 on all City streets. Parking on the public way is prohibited until the parking ban is lifted.
