Valentine’s Weekend 2022 Events
Valentine’s Day is on a Monday this year, but the weekend before is shaping up to have some great events right here in town for you and your special someone !
Music/Dancing
On Friday night, February 11, the 3rd Annual Hicks and Chicks Adult Prom will be held at the Sanford Elks Lodge beginning at 7:30. You can dress fancy to flannel and everything in between! This is a 21+ event, and will feature music by Dj Gingersnap. Tickets start at $30. VIP tables include 8 tickets, private table and chairs, and a fun toast! Nicole Marie Photography will be there for formal Prom pics. Post your Promposals on your personal social media pages and let Jessica Jourdain or Amy Turgeon Sevigny know to be entered into the running for 2022 prom king and queen. No date? No problem! Saturday night, February 12, rock out to Dirty McCurdy at Mill Towne Tavern. DMcC is a 4-piece power trio that packs a whole road case full of musical spiked-punch with implements of melodic carnage like bagpipes, saxophone, banjo, keyboards, and blues Harp. While DMcC has the rock edge needed to raise the roof, they are also well versed at the finer points of musical subtlety bringing a versatile range of all the favorites to the stage. Mill Towne also has great food, drinks and games to round out the evening.
Theater
On Saturday, February 12, Broadway’s Next Hit Musical returns to the Sanford Performing Arts Center with an all-new show at 7:00 p.m. Get all the details here.
Like your dates a little more on the serious side? The Vagina Monologues, written by Eve Ensler and directed by Ashley Muise, will be presented at Nasson Little Theatre February 11-12 at 7:00 p.m. More info here.
Fun & Food
It’ll be Cupid’s Choice all weekend (Saturday the 12th through Monday the 14th) at Smitty’s GameLab. They will have special packages for gamers and bowlers, and each one comes with two cupcakes. There will be a special Valentine’s drink menu and music too!
Staying in for Valentine’s Day? Above and Beyond Catering has a special Valentine’s Charcuterie Box with just the right assortment of cheeses, meats, fruits and sweets for date night. Order on their website for pickup or delivery.
Cruisin’ Infusions at the Midtown Mall also has special Valentine charcuterie boxes available, including savory and sweet options. A bottle of Prosecco or Bailey’s can also be added to your order. Visit their website to order.
…and don’t forget the flowers!
Horticulture students at Sanford Regional Technical Center will be having a Valentine’s Day Sale from February 10-14. They will have single stem roses, carnations, tulips, lilies and many bouquets and small flower arrangements available. Payment can be made in cash or checks made out to SRTC. The sale will be taking place at the kiosk in the main lobby of Sanford High School. If you have any questions please email pdurack@sanford.org.
