Maine Attraction Water Ski Show Team placed second overall at the 2024 Eastern Regional Show Ski Championships held July 27 and 28 in Northampton, MA. The team earned 1,236.13 points, falling short of first place by only 29 points. The team won best overall show and best showmanship of the tournament. A real highlight of the competition was the team’s ballet line of 19 girls, which brought home not only the highest scoring female act, but also the highest scoring act of the entire tournament.
One of Maine Attraction’s stars, Peter Hegarty, defended his title in the Freestyle Jump at Division 1 Show Ski National Championship in Indiana Aug. 9-11 and won, but in his last jump he had a bad crash. Hegarty was transported to the hospital and treated in the ICU for a concussion and water in his lungs. Doctors are already seeing improvements, but he has a long battle ahead of him. Katrina Sardegna has started a GoFundMe for Hegarty’s medical bills, which has already raised more than half of the $40,000 target. If you would like to donate, go here.
