As of March 6, 2023, the Sanford Springvale News has ceased publication of the print edition as well as the email edition. This website, and our Facebook page, will stay up for the time being, although there may be few posts.
Thank you to all the advertisers who have supported us over the past few years, especially Willie Dumont at Garnsey Brothers Insurance, Cabana’s Auto Body, Copy Kat’s, The City of Sanford, Maine, Third Alarm Diner, Town Square Realty Group, Sean Dumont at Edward Jones, Sanford Sound, Pip’s Second Hand Shop, LLC and Larry Floyd’s Seamless Gutters.
Thank you to Liz Kilkenny for advertising expertise, Terry Jellerson for delivery assistance and Kat at Copy Kat’s for making the print edition look fabulous every time.
Thank you to all who have made cash contributions to keep us going, including Kathleen Whalin, Lynn Serritella, Dumont Wealth, David Swett, Paul Stevens and Lesley Unger.
Thank you to all who have submitted news, photos, articles and information, especially ACO Lauren Masellas, Kevin McKeon, AC Bob Arnold of the SFD, Dianne Connolly, Nicole Bowley and Lawrence Furbish.
Thank you to all who answered my emails and requests for info so promptly, especially City Clerk Sue Cote; Chief Andersen, Deputy Chief Small and Major Gagné of the SPD; City Manager Steve Buck and Executive Administrator Lorisa Ricketts; Rep. Anne-Marie Mastraccio; Deputy Mayor Maura Herlihy and many, many others.
Thank you to all who gave us encouragement and motivation to keep going, and thanks to you, our readers.
We hope that a group will come together to keep local news flowing in some form. Sanford is too big and too vital a City not to have a newspaper.
