Congratulations to Sanford Regional Technical Center’s Team 3451 (a/k/a our Engineering Applications with Robotics classes) for their 5th place finish in the Infinite Recharge at Home Competition sponsored by FIRST Robotics. In the words of Brent Sirois, SRTC Engineering Applications with Robotics Instructor, “The First Robotics game of ‘Infinite Recharge at Home’ was a great success that gave us a feeling of normalcy in a year that has been anything but. We had the option of using last year’s robot, but soon determined that we could achieve much more by building a new robot specific to the updated challenge. We completed four of the five challenges (needing only 3) and competed against teams from all over the world.”
This team has adjusted to the many changes necessary to conduct a safe and competitive season during COVID-19 and came through it all with a strong finish and gracious professionalism. Excellent work! Students are pictured from both sessions; members of the class include: Trevor Bickford, Jacob Cao, Scott Bowden, Aiden Crawford, Jordan Breault, Ryan Demers, Braden Butler, Stephen Hanselmann, Jacob Dube, Preston Lam, Robbie Long, Kaylee Mayotte, Ben Mandani, Jeremiah VanTassell, James Morton, Ian Welch and Bradley Roy.
