On September 18, Springvale Public Library Director Lesley Unger reluctantly decided to close the Library to the public due to the surge of Covid-19 cases in our community. She will reassess the situation in two weeks and hopes to reopen then. In the meantime, you can take advantage of the Library’s curbside service to check out books, movies and more.
The Library is raffling off a wonderful watercolor painting by children’s author and artist Bruce McMillan. The painting, entitled “Thirty Minutes to Three Afloat,” is pictured above. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5, and the drawing will be held after the holidays.
Looking for a family activity? Come pick up a Scavenger Hunt Extravaganza packet curbside to discover, explore, and learn more about the wild world around us. Make your own Tree identification wheel, check for tracks, take pictures and WIN a copy of “Berries, Seeds and Nuts” by Diane Burns.
The Library’s Fall Festival of Books and Art is planned for October 23 and 24. It’ll kick off with a book sale on Friday, which will continue on Saturday. Saturday’s events also include an Artisan Fair, Concerts Under the Maple Trees, and a Pumpkin Bird Feeder family activity. The Library is accepting donations of gently used books, with children’s books especially needed. Lots more info here.
