Summer Soccer Camp Registration
Registration for Summer Soccer Camp at Shaw Field is now open. The camp runs from Monday, July 15th, to Thursday, July 20th. Sessions for children ages 5-12 are 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Sessions for boys and girls ages 13 and up are 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Registration costs $125 and includes a free t-shirt. Sanford High School Junior Olivia Guinard Named to All-State Tennis Team
Sanford High School junior Olivia Guinard was named to Varsity Maine’s All-State tennis team. Guinard went 11-1 in the regular season and made it to the quarterfinals in the state singles tournament.
Sanford High School Athletes Compete at New England Track and Field Championships
Sanford High School junior Tucker Walker led an impressive Spartan contingent at the New England Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Bangor on June 10th. Walker finished ninth in the discus throw in 149 feet, 10 inches, and 25th in the shot put with a throw of 44 feet, 11 ¾ inches.
Senior Kora Eckelman finished 12th in the discus with a throw of 107 feet, 8 inches.
Junior Nick Farrington was 13th in the javelin (149 feet, 10 inches).
Summer Athlete Training Program
There is a free program for Sanford High School athletes this summer with Sports Performance Training. Weekly sessions started June 21st and run through August 4th. They are on Wednesdays and Fridays from 7:30-8:45 a.m. Registration forms are available in the main office at Sanford High School.
