SHS Boys’ Basketball Edges Thornton Academy, Suffers Close Loss to Thornton
Makai Bougie scored a team-high 19 points to lead the Sanford High boys’ basketball team to a 52-50 win over Thornton Academy on Tuesday, January 30. Dylan Gendron chipped in with 13, while Tanner McCann added 10.
Sanford then suffered a 55-52 loss to Bonny Eagle on Friday, February 2. Bougie scored 17 points, and Ben Terril scored 11.
SHS Girls’ Basketball Loses to Thornton But Bounces Back Against Bonny Eagle
Paige Sevigny scored a game-high 20 points, but the SHS girls’ basketball team lost to Thornton Academy 59-51 on Tuesday, January 30. Ava Hudson added 10 points and nine rebounds.
The Spartans bounced back with a 47-30 win over Bonny Eagle on Friday, February 2.
Sevigny and Hailey Tarbox each scored 11 points.
SHS Wrestling Finishes Regular Season
The Sanford High School wrestling team won its last regular season match at Cheverus High School on Wednesday, January 31.
They beat Bonny Eagle 45-30 but lost to Cheverus 39-36.
