The boys’ soccer team battled Noble to a 1-1 tie in double-overtime on Tuesday, Sept. 26. Antowayne Chisholm scored Sanford’s lone goal. Goalkeeper Beckett Barlow had nine saves.
The girls’ soccer team lost 4-2 to Gorham on Wednesday, Sept. 27. Julissa McBarron and Annalise Stimmell scored for the Spartans. They rebounded with a 6-0 win over Massabesic on Friday, Sept. 29, behind a hat trick from McBarron.
The field hockey team was busy, playing three games last week. They lost to Noble, 4-1, on Monday, Sept. 25, with Lili Lam scoring for the Spartans. They suffered a 4-1 loss to Gorham on Wednesday, Sept. 27, then rebounded with a 3-1 win over Marshwood at home on Saturday. Sadie Sevigny, Audrey Payeur, and Lam all scored.
The football team lost to Thornton Academy, 41-14, on Friday, Sept. 29. Jordan Bissonnette scored both touchdowns for Sanford.
The cross-country team competed at the Maine XC Festival of Champions at Troy Howard Middle School in Belfast on Saturday, Sept. 30. Isaac Pelletier finished eighth in the freshmen race in a personal-best of 17 minutes, 50.14 seconds and was the top finisher for the boys’ team. Annalise Stimmell was the top finisher on the girls’ side in 22:42.06.
The volleyball team lost to Kennebunk, 3-0, on Tuesday, Sept. 26. The following day, they beat Windham 3-0. They ended their week beating Portland on Saturday, Sept. 30.
Finally, the golf team had their senior day at Sanford Country Club on Thursday, Sept. 28. They beat Massabesic 11-2 in team play.
