SHS Football, Soccer and Field Hockey teams dominant in victory
Scott Robitaille ran for a touchdown and threw for another to help lead the Sanford Spartans to a 35-25 win over Scarborough on Friday, September 13. Rhylen Avery ran for touchdowns of 63 yards and 38 yards, while Jayden Franco and Joshua Callahan also scored for Sanford.
The girls’ soccer team trounced Thornton Academy 8-0 on Tuesday, September 10, behind four goals from Ava Hudson. Mollie Puffer added two goals, while Annalise Stimmell and Kaylin Stuart also scored for the Spartans.
In field hockey, the Spartans also took down Thornton Academy, winning 4-0 on Tuesday, September 10.
Sanford’s cross-country team traveled to Gorham on Saturday, September 14, to compete in the Southern Maine XC Classic. Caleb Pelletier was the top finisher on the boys’ side, placing 55th in a personal-best time of 18 minutes, 20.21 seconds. Sophie Therrien and Eliza Allen were the top finishers in the girls’ race.
